The Democratic Liberation Forces of Rwanda (FDLR) condemn in the strongest terms the barbaric
attacks on the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) barracks in
RUMANGABO, North Kivu province, on Friday 25th September 2015.
The FDLR present their deepest condolences to the Congolese Authorities and to their Congolese
brothers and sisters who have lost their beloved ones.
The FDLR reject categorically unfounded allegations that they might have been the authors of these
barbaric attacks. Such false allegations are aimed at tarnishing the image of the FDLR. The
Congolese populations are our brothers and sisters; they have welcomed and hosted us for 2
decades and there is no reason to attack their armed forces.
According to reliable information, the attacks on the FARDC barracks of RUMANGABO were
carried out by soldiers of the Rwanda Defense Forces (RDF) who are currently stationed on the hills
of KANYESHEZA near NYIRAGONGO on the RDC territory.
The FDLR urge the International Community especially the United Nations, the Southern African
Development Community and the African Union to condemn these unspeakable attacks and order
Rwanda to withdraw its troops without further delay from the DRC territory.
Moreover, the FDLR urge the DRC Authorities not to allow the incursion of the RDF in DRC under
the pretext of chasing the FDLR.
The FDLR remain committed to peace and reiterate their conviction that a viable solution to the
Rwanda political problem can be found only through peaceful means i.e. direct talks between the
Kigali regime and the FDLR.
